Privacy Policy
I respect your privacy and will never ask for information I don’t need. This policy explains what data I collect, why I collect it, and how it’s handled.
1. Who I am
I’m John Mackay, an independent app developer based in the United Kingdom. For data protection purposes, I’m the data controller responsible for any personal information you share with me. You can contact me at support@johnmackay.dev if you have any questions about privacy or data protection.
2. What data I collect
The only personal information I receive is what you choose to send me when you contact me for support — usually your name, email address, and the content of your message. I do not collect analytics data, tracking information, or any data from your use of the app itself.
3. How I use your data
I use your information solely to reply to your message and provide customer support. I do not use it for marketing, profiling, or any other purpose.
4. Lawful basis for processing
The lawful basis for processing your information under the UK and EU GDPR is legitimate interests — specifically, my interest in responding to user enquiries and providing support for my apps.
5. How long I keep your data
I keep support emails only for as long as needed to resolve your request and for a short time afterwards in case you follow up. I regularly delete old correspondence that’s no longer needed.
6. Sharing your information
I don’t share your personal information with anyone, except if required by law. Your message may pass through my email service provider (iCloud Mail) purely to enable delivery — it’s not used for any other purpose.
7. Your rights
Under data protection law, you have the right to:
• access the personal data I hold about you
• ask me to correct or delete it
• object to or restrict how it’s used
• withdraw consent (if you ever gave it)
• complain to your local data protection authority if you believe your data has been mishandled
You can contact me at support@johnmackay.dev to exercise any of these rights.
8. Cookies and analytics
My apps and website do not use cookies or analytics to track you.
9. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy occasionally. Any significant changes will be posted on this page with a revised update date.
